If You Build It, They Will Come
Last night, what began as a dream came to fruition. After several deaths in my personal life, to include the murder of my youngest brother, I needed to create something that would allow me to move through the grief in a way that honored his life and served the communities and relationships that I am a part of. Good Grief: Pain, Pleasure, and Possibilities was that creation.
This video is a followup to the event and a description of what we did to create the container should anyone else be interested in doing something like this in their communities. I hope that it serves you.
Below, I have added the support document that I created for the event. My intent with this was to point people toward resources. Because, when talking about grief, you never know what can arise. There’s some good material in here to help you create the container for such a gathering. Some of the resources are particular to Boulder County. But you can do a quick search for the equivalent in your communities.
